Taking God's Healing Love to the Nations

February 5, 2008

Dear ones,

The past month has been a busy one and very fruitful! Bob just finished leading the 3 1/2 day clergy retreat for the Anglican Bolivian clergy. It went very well! It was a privilege to ask and prepare for our loving Father to bless, encourage, comfort and minister to His shepherds in this part of the world. They work so hard! Meg translated Bob's talks (with a little help from someone to edit). Then on Thursday night, Meg, Betty (fellow missionary and gifted in the prayer ministry) and Luis from the congregation here in Cochabamba and also gifted in the healing ministry) came out to help with a Soaking Prayer session. It was very beautiful and meaningful. We gave them each a CD with the instrumental music to take home to their congregations. Many were enthusiastic about doing something similar.

A wonderful by-product of this time was the chance to fellowship with the clergy and Bob felt very much a part of the group and the collective ministry here. Plus, he has invitations to other communities for the ministry of teaching and praying.

Bob has also been called upon to visit several people with life-threatening illnesses. One fellow, a missionary here, with a history of cancer had to return to the United States for several scans and biopsies, so serious were his symptoms. He has called and reported that there is no cancer in any of the 3 areas of concern! We are praising and glorifying our Risen Savior!

On a more mundane but necessary level, we can report that we have been approved for our one-year visas which, as many of you know, has taken many trips downtown to take care of the various aspects of the application process.

Thank you so much for your prayers as you think of us. They are vital to our safety and our fruitfulness. We pray for you also, and would be honored to know of specific prayer requests to lift up.

Much love to each of you,

Meg and Bob

Carnaval: Corso de Corsos (90 Photos) Feb 12, 2008
Corso de corsos means Parade of Parades. The good part is that it draws dancers from all parts of Bolivia with their native dress. The fun part is it's a major water balloon fight. The unfortunate part is that it's like Mardi Gras...there is much pagan and worldly being exalted. We give thanks for the good, and commit the rest to Jesus in prayer.
