Taking God's Healing Love to the Nations

January 13, 2008
I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now... Phillipians 1:3-5

We call Bob, "Pago". That means, "I pay".

Dearest friends,

We have arrived now in Cochabamba. It's been two very full weeks. The first was spent with shopping for the things we will be needing in the house...everything! We haven't gotten to the furniture yet, but we do have a washing machine, stove, frig, TV (definitely needed as we have experienced 2 demonstrations and blockades!) and DVD player, plus the myriad things for the kitchen. We give great thanks for our missionary friends, Larry and Betty Colletta who have been here 3 years and have devoted all their time to taking us around, providing wholesome and delicious meals, insights, and explanations of how to do things here. They have been awesome!

As you can see by the picture below, it's really a very beautiful city. It's very green right now because it's the rainy season. So much of that shopping was done in the rain - but I brought with me a pair of rubber boots and they were perfect for splashing through puddles!
The second week and continuing into next week, we're working on getting our 1 year visa. The one we have is just for 30 days so we have to hustle. We're very grateful for a Bolivian woman named Marilu who is helping us and really knows the ropes.

Bob has been asked to conduct a retreat for the clergy of the diocese (which means all of Bolivia). He is busy thinking and praying about how that will come together and very humbled and excited at the same time to have been asked. We have already had several occasions to pray for people with very serious needs.

We have had some problems with e-mail, hence haven't been able to communicate sooner our love and appreciation for each of you. Please write us and let us know how we can be praying for you.

In His faithful love, Bob+ and Meg
