Taking God's Healing Love to the Nations

The Blessings flowed in Santa Cruz, Bolivia

June 28, 2007

Dear Friends,

Meg and I just returned from a mission trip to Santa Cruz, Bolivia. It is always a joy to be able to report about the "wonderful deeds" done by our gracious and loving God. Once again, we witnessed His Spirit being poured out with accompanying miracles of healing and persons' lives being transformed, praise the Lord!

A few days before we departed, a friend of mine, Jeff Bowes, told me over the phone that he believed Ephesians 3:20 was a verse meant for this week-long seminar: "Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think..." This definitely proved to be true. The anointing and power of the Spirit were manifested in abundance. Just a few examples follow.

Several persons testified that their hands "were burning up like fire." One pastor told me he was experiencing fire and heat throughout his entire body." A young man who had received prayer to be filled with the Spirit came to me later, very excited, to let me know that he had felt "electricity go up through is arm and all through his chest." What is significant about these particular manifestations is that they confirmed a call to healing ministry in these servants. They knew God himself touched their lives dramatically.

Pastor Federico and his wife Rosi who hosted us and worked so hard to prepare the way for this seminar.

Several persons related stories of receiving a physical healing. In response to a word of knowledge, a woman had relief from back pain from scoliosis. Another woman who had had Dengue Fever and was left with the characteristic pain in joints also received healing. Many people experienced some degree of inner (emotional) healing and restoration. One of the leaders of Cristo Luz del Mundo (the Anglican parish that sponsored the seminar) pointed to the fact that nearly everyone came forward to one of our prayer ministry teams with his or her personal need. There is so much wounding, grief and shame in life but the Lord was faithful to meet the needs by healing hurts and very obviously setting many free.

  Alfred and Kay ministering.

My special thanks to the team who joined us: Alfred and Kay Focke. Kay is Office Manager of the Christian Healing Center, Oceanside, CA, and both serve as prayer ministers there.

Andrew teaching.

Andrew Strother. Andrew and I have been brothers in Christ for years serving in prison ministry. Andrew did an awesome work with the teens at a separate workshop for youth and youth leaders. Andrew even got to visit and minister at a recovery house for homeless men as well as preach at a home church. Also, we were very blessed to have three persons from Cochabamba come over to be part of our ministry team. Betty Colletta (SAMS missionary with her husband, Larry) and Tom and Laurie Summerfield.

Andrew and Martin with the youth.

The youth pastor Martin Flores from Cristo Salvador (La Paz) flew down to help minister to the youth and assist the worship team. Last, but not least, Meg jumped in with both feet and did a fantastic job translating, praying, taking photos and generally sharing the love of God with all. Amazing how God put this all together. Or should we be amazed?!

Finally, our many thanks go to the host of intercessors who lifted up this seminar in your prayers. Satan did try to derail us but was quickly squelched. I'm convinced over and over again that the only reason we witness these demonstrations of holy love and holy power is because God's people are willing to humble themselves through prayer and fasting. We learned that there was a local team of intercessors scheduled to pray 24/7 throughout the seminar. The "Senior Warden" of the church, Olga, was in charge of this.

Culminating service Saturday night.

By the way, about 75 attended each night and over 200 attended the closing service on Saturday night. Pray that the revival continues to grow in Santa Cruz and in Bolivia.

God bless!
